A pair of Ferrari 355 radiators, one painted, the other about to be painted in our workshop. These can also be copied in all alloy if the tanks are damaged although they are usually ok to be re-cored and this keeps them nice and original.
We have a new supply of these oil coolers which are made in EU. This is the 911 oil cooler that is bolted directly onto the crankcase for engine oil and has either a hose fitting or a screw fitting. Uses : Most radiators on cars with an automatic transmission have an oil cooler in one of the end tanks for cooling the transmission fluid. If this fails it can be catastrophic for the gearbox as the engine coolant can mix with the transmission fluid.
Some classic and kitcar radiators cannot be re-cored due to the fact that replacement coolers are not often available and while a new OE replacement radiator may be available for modern cars, it might not be available for older vehicles.
These coolers also enable a manual radiator to be used in place of an automatic radiator (particularly useful for kitcars) or if the transmission fluid overheats when towing as an auxiliary cooler can help keep the transmission fluid cool.
Mounting : They can either be fixed to the radiator using mounting ties through the radiator or bolted near the front of the car (which we prefer.) The oil fittings are 10mm push-on fittings.

A conversation I had with several drivers at last years (2014) Goodwood revival was that the FIA have started to give time penalties against cars having upgraded alloy radiators instead of the period correct copper and brass radiators.
One such driver is Barry Sidery-Smith, owner of the ex-works MGB DRX 255C who has received a number of time penalties for running an alloy radiator even though a standard copper andbrass radiator simply will not keep his car cool.
To solve his cooling problem we built Barry a massive copper and brass radiator with the thickest core we have ever put in an MGB, a 5-row at 86mm thick. To put this into context, the original copper core is 56mm thick (an inefficient gill-on-tube type core) and we regularly upgrade MGB radiators by increasing the core thickness with a very efficient 64mm 4-row (pack construction) which is usually enough.
We can upgrade any copper & brass radiator making one that is just as efficient as an alloy upgrade (but just not as light) so give us a call if you have fallen foul of the FIA due to an incorrect radiator.

These are a fantastic upgrade for the classic copper and brass although we can also supply upgraded copper radiators if you wish to retain your cars originality.
The main advantage is the weight saving over the traditional radiator, these alloy units weigh about a third of the copper and brass equivalent.

We have a new collection service for classic car radiators of any shape or size. This service is for customers who want their original radiator reconditioned but are unable to post it due to not having the time, ability or enough packaging material to pack it up safely and securely. A wooden crate is sent with packaging materials and instructions, put the old radiator in the enclosed plastic bag then pop it in the crate and fasten clips with cable ties ready for collection – simple!
This collection service costs £30.00 + vat

We recently manufactured the radiator for this rather beautiful Cobra Daytona replica on display at Stoneleigh Kit Car show on 5/6th May 2013.
The core was a massive 90mm thick and should be up for cooling anything!
